Key Features of NEET Exam

Age Limit
  • Minimum Age: 17 years as of December 31 in the year of admission.
Minimum Marks
  • General Category: 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • OBC/SC/ST: 40% aggregate marks in the same subjects. PwD: 45% aggregate marks.
Educational Qualification
  • Candidates must have completed Class 12 or its equivalent with the following subjects: Physics Chemistry Biology/Biotechnology English
Other Criteria
  • Nationality: Open to Indian nationals, NRIs, OCI, PIO, and Foreign Nationals. Number of Attempts: There is no limit on the number of attempts for NEET.

  • Mode of Examination - Pen-and-paper based (Offline)
  • Total Marks - 720
  • Marking Scheme - Correct Answer: +4 marks
  • Incorrect Answer: -1 mark

  • Evaluation Criteria - Physics: 50 questions, 180 marks
  • Chemistry: 50 questions, 180 marks
  • Biology (Botany and Zoology): 100 questions, 360 marks

How to Apply for NEET

Registration

Visit the official NEET website (https://neet.nta.nic.in/). Click on New Registration. Fill in basic personal details (name, email, phone number) and generate login credentials.

Filling the Application Form:

Log in with the generated credentials. Fill in academic details (Class 12 marks, subjects, etc.). Upload scanned photographs, signature, and thumb impression.

Choosing Exam Preferences

Select the preferred examination center from the available options and most comfortable language offered by NEET. for the exam.

Fee Payment

Pay the application fee online through Debit/Credit cards, Net Banking, or e-wallets ( General: ₹1,700, OBC/SC/ST: ₹1,200, PWD/Transgender: ₹1,200 )
